So far the train table is a hit and has renewed my son's interest in Thomas the Train. Everyone from grandparents and parents to baby brother and toddler friends have enjoyed the new table.

This was my first project involving tools.

The plans were great, and easy to follow. I used solid fir material with a birch plywood top. After applying a periwinkle latex glaze to the table top, I applied several coats of Behr polyurethane finish (quick drying and baby friendly!).
