Toy train museums are a great place to visit if you are in love with trains or toy trains. If you happen to live in or near Pennsylvania then you will want to plan a trip to the National Toy Train Museum. Located at 300 Paradise Lane, Paradise Township, Pennsylvania, this museum has a great collection of toy trains, accessories and history to share with you.
First of all, this museum is closed in the winter, but it will re-open to the public in April of 2008. However, while the museum is closed for the winter, the business office and the reference library are still up and running.
Now on to what this museum has to offer train lovers. First of all this museum focuses on toy trains that were produced all the way back to the mid-1800s. What I like about their collection is that you can see the evolution of not only trains, but of toy manufacturing. The toy train brands that are on display include, but are not limited to: Lionel, Marx, LGB, American Flyer and Marklin. The exhibits offered by the National Toy Train Museum change periodically, but typically you will see sign displays, S Gauge displays, HO Gauge displays, O Gauge displays, Standard Gauge Displays, Dealer’s Exhibits, Harry’s Window and Historical Train Displays.
The National Toy Train Museum is a great source for toy train information. However, they are not the only source you can reference. If you are interested in toy train buildings and destinations/a>, genuine Brio trains or any other toy train brand, then this blog will be a valuable resource for you.
