Next week you have several great train shows to choose from. Your first option is the Friends of the Burlington Northern Railroad Convention. It is scheduled for June 25 through the 28. It will be located at the Ramada Limited South which can be found at 1511 Center Park Road in Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. The registration fee for the convention will be $40, or $25 if you just want to go to the banquet. This is the annual FOBNR meeting and will include train tours, displays featuring name trains and other collectibles, model railroad layouts and Boyd Andrew, who is the general manager for BNSF will be the banquet guest speaker. Hotel rooms are available at the Ramada for a reduced price of $85 plus tax.

Your second option next week is the 2008 N Scale Convention & World’s Greatest hobby on Tour – All Scales. This convention is planned for June 25 through the 29. It will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center, which can be found at 221 Fourth Street in Louisville, Kentucky 40202. The convention and WGH shows will be held all day long on Saturday and Sunday. If you are a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine and other collectible toy train, then you will enjoy the 50,000 square feet that is dedicated to the layout of an amazing track. Clinics and special events are also planned.

The third option that you have for next week is the Railroad History of South Holland event. This event is scheduled for the 26th and will run from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. It will be held at the South Holland Public Library, which is located at 16250 Wausau Avenue, South Holland, Illinois 60473. The admission fee is free. The history of the railroads from this area of the country will be discussed.
