Matchbox / Hot Wheels Table Plans Testimony Click here to learn more about the table plans . . . Here is our finished train table. We had a bunch of extra plywood around and decided to make the table out of that vs. buying new wood. We knew it would splinter terribly, so we covered the table with ˝ inch batting and then picked out some train fabric to cover it. The trains go both ways on the fabric so it is not upside down even though it may appear to at first glance. My husband had the idea to cover it with the fabric “like they do on Trading Spaces” and it took about the same amount of time that sanding all the pieces would have taken.
We have not done the table top yet, but we plan to do a train one, a race track one (for our son’s Matchbox Cars ) and another as an airport because Dad likes airplanes. Maybe a Hot Wheels one when he get's older. The possibilities are endless! I know there are years of enjoyment to come from this so thank you.
