The Polar Express Hot Chocolate Car plays actual music from the scene in the movie where children are given delicious hot chocolate to drink. The Polar Express Caboose & Handcar also attach to the engine by means of magnets. The handcar is operated by two funny elves who move up and down when the handcar is in motion.

Other additions to the Brio Polar Express train set include the Polar Express North Pole - which offers five pieces to expand the track. A Lionel train set commemorating the movie has also been issued, but it has been sold out in stores since 2004; now it can only be purchased online.
